As of November 2012 Rosario's birth year is unclear. His death record written in 1854 states that he is 76 which gives him a computed birth year of 1778. His son Gaetano was born in 1838 when he gives his age as 40, giving him a birth year of 1798. A daughter, Gandolfa, was born in 1840. On her birth record Rosario states that he is 48, giving him a computed birth year of 1792. A second son named Gaetano was born in 1843, when Rosario again said he was 48. Given the birth year of his wife, sometime around 1805, the later dates seem more likely, but no definitive evidence has yet been found.
